About Sitia

Sitia is a maker of tailor made modern style chairs that was established in Vicenza, the city of art, near Venice, in 2002. The company is lead by maestro Pergentino Battocchio who has 47 years of experience in making chairs.

Every chair in Sitia is born and created by Mr. Battocchio. Once an idea is formed, Mr. Battocchio sketches it directly onto a piece of plywood and creates a model by layering boards using hand tools and a ruler. Upon receiving the parts ordered from the supplier, he does the work himself, everything from packing the cushion materials to assembly. After repeating this process for 50 times until he can fully understand the points that a craftsman should pay attention to, Mr. Battocchio then finally tells the craftsmen in charge of each process about the special techniques for producing the new chair. Because his specific directions are followed faithfully, perfect products are born.

Sitia brand is a project developed thanks to deeply custom-tailored knowledge, avant-garde technologies, certified methods and innovative structural researches. Venice artistic heritage contributes to handmade passion with the highest level of care for details.
